About Us
Rosemary here. Let me tell you a story.
When we look at our challenges as invitations to play, something wonderful happens. Doors and windows open, perceptions shift and we step into the world of amazing opportunities.
I was looking into starting a new business. A friend told me about Barbara Winter's books and seminars and I was curious. At her Web site, I found listings for seminars all over the country, but none here in the Twin Cities. My friend told me that Barbara lives in the metro area, so I was disappointed and wondered why there was nothing here.
I found myself calling her office and asking if she would do a seminar here, if I could find the people. Now where this came from, I'm not sure. I didn't have a huge list of people to notify of this event; I just knew I wanted it to happen.
Barbara thought it was a good idea and like a great entrepreneur, she saw the opportunity and went for it.
I was thrilled at the prospect of having a local seminar and was so excited I couldn't keep quiet about it. I told everyone I knew and asked people to pass it on to anyone who might be interested. Rather soft sell. We did not advertise other than flyers and word of mouth.
As things go in the universe of opportunity, Barbara got a call to do an interview for a local newspaper, the week before the seminar. You might think, 'Oh that was lucky!' Sure, it was luck and luck is not a haphazard phenomenon. There are even studies now that document the fact that luck comes to those who expect it.
We had a great turn out for 2 half day seminars and I not only attended, I hosted the event and made a little cash.
Since then Barbara and I have joined forces to offer Camp Jumpstart! Energize Your Entrepreneurial Dreams. This camp has a life of its own, just as the seminar did. Why? Because it is spawned from our common DESIRE. Our desire is to nurture entrepreneurs and help people realize their own potential.
The key here is DESIRE. There are no 'shoulds' involved. Whenever one of us gets off track from our desire with a focus on obligation, the other is ready to say, 'where did that come from?' Why does this matter. Desire is our most powerful source of energy. Obligation weighs us down.
'So what?', you might say. 'Why are you telling me this?' Shake all that out and unfurrow your brow.
Consider a challenge you are facing right now. Ask yourself, "What do I really desire here? Is that all? Is that really what I want?"
Then ask, "How (or what) do I want to invest in those desires?"
What would an entrepreneur do? Open up to the possibilities!
